LitBuy Sheets: Share a Shopping List Without Mixing Up Purchases

Keep shared LitBuy lists clear about suggestions, selected options and purchases. Coordinate changes and costs without exposing private order information.

English

Shared LitBuy sheets can help friends exchange finds and compare options, but a public product suggestion should not become an accidental order instruction. Make it clear who wants an item, which variation they mean and whether anyone has actually agreed to buy it.

For one person's purchase, use the copyable personal planner. For sorting repeated finds across several collections, use the multiple-spreadsheets guide. This page focuses on keeping a shared list understandable when more than one person contributes.

Separate a suggestion from a decision

Use plain labels such as suggested, considering and selected. Define selected as a personal choice, not proof of a completed purchase. Record the actual purchase separately when it occurs so a friend does not order again because they misunderstood the list.

Allow each person to state their own option. Two people may want the same listing in different sizes or colours. Do not merge those intentions into a single ambiguous quantity unless the options and responsibility remain clear.

Make comments specific enough to act on

A useful comment identifies the question rather than simply saying “good” or “bad.” For clothing, it might ask about garment length. For a bag, it might ask about the opening or strap range. Keep the answer attached to the option it describes.

View this floral embroidered bag on OG as an example. One person might prefer a colour; another may care whether their everyday items fit inside. Those preferences are not conflicting facts. Keep personal choices separate from a specification that still needs confirmation.

The links guide helps contributors identify the same destination instead of discussing similar thumbnails from different listings.

Agree who can change what

Before sharing, choose who can view, comment or edit in the tool you use. Give people only the access needed for the collaboration. A person helping compare styles does not automatically need access to receipts or shipping details.

Avoid silently replacing another person's selected option. Leave a clear note when proposing a change and let the person confirm it before anyone acts. Keep a dated copy of agreed choices when moving from discussion to purchase, especially if the shared list will continue changing.

Keep private transactions outside the public copy

Use public product links for discussion. Store account identifiers, addresses, private order links, payment records and tracking details separately. A screenshot can expose those details even when the text of the shared sheet does not.

When sharing a QC image, check that it concerns the right item and remove unnecessary private details before distribution. Do not present another person's photograph as an inspection of your own order. The QC guide explains the importance of matching the item and variation.

Discuss costs before anyone pays

If one person plans to coordinate purchases, agree the exact scope first: who purchases, who pays which amount and how changes or cancellations will be handled. A suggested split is not permission to charge someone or place an order for them.

Keep item amounts and estimated freight distinct. If the parcel contents change, revisit the proposed shipping split rather than treating an earlier estimate as a settled bill. The shipping guide helps separate product selection from the parcel quote.

Close the loop when plans change

If someone withdraws, mark the choice as withdrawn rather than leaving it selected. If a link changes, preserve the earlier purchase record and review the replacement separately. If a refund or return is requested, do not count it as finished until the relevant outcome is confirmed.

Use the returns guide for that distinction. A shared list works best when it shows what the group has actually agreed, while each person's account and financial information remain private.

Return to the LitBuy buying guide when you are ready to move an agreed selection into a purchase. Clear coordination should reduce mistakes, not turn a casual recommendation into an obligation.
